With the All-Star break last week, the four full-season affiliates went dark for four days. Things get back to normal this week, though with the trade deadline looming and players who were drafted needing to come to terms by August 1, there’s likely to be plenty of off-field activity to track.
For an abbreviated week, we bring you an abbreviated wrap-up.

Eguy Rosario had another massive series for the Chihuahuas, going 6-for-11 with four extra-base hits and four walks. He also swiped a pair of bases while getting another game in right field. … Cole Cummings came out of the break strong, hitting two homers as the Missions dropped all three of their games at Arkansas. The 26-year-old left fielder continues to have reverse splits this year, posting an .847 OPS against lefties while managing just a .686 mark and a significantly higher strikeout rate against righties. … The TinCaps had a rough weekend, dropping three straight to Lake County. Devin Ortiz was the only batter to collect double-digit at-bats as he started all three games. The 25-year-old, who signed as an undrafted free agent in 2022, was 3-for-10 with a walk and a double. He’s been Fort Wayne’s primary third baseman all season, hitting .246/.347/.328. … Lake Elsinore collected the full-season clubs’ only two victories of the weekend as they continued their season-long domination of Rancho Cucamonga. Braedon Karpathios went 3-for-8 while drawing seven walks and connecting on his fourth homer of the year for an odd .375/.667/.750 line. The 21-year-old, who signed out of junior college in the same deep undrafted free agent group as Ortiz, didn’t punch out in the three-game set. He currently leads the Cal League in both walks and strikeouts.
On the mound, Gabe Mosser and Jared Kollar were the only pitchers in the organization who logged more than five innings. Mosser gave El Paso a quality start, allowing two earned runs and striking out a season-high eight batters over six frames. The 28-year-old, a 27th-round pick back in 2018, has been the Chihuahuas’ most reliable starter all year, posting a 5.07 ERA. … Kollar, yet another 2022 undrafted free agent, logged a career-best nine strikeouts over 5.2 frames for the Missions. He’s given up more than two runs in just four of his 18 appearances this year. His 3.04 ERA is third in the Texas League.
